The Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy (PCPD) is looking for trainers

 

PCPD is a leading organization in the field of political development that aims to enhance democratic practices and improve the current political situation in Palestine. We are a national progressive democratic institution; our duty is to work at the grassroots level to alleviate the day-to-day suffering and the hardships caused by the inhumane Israeli policies imposed on Palestinians. PCPD’s principal task is to adopt and support the issues and initiatives of our target groups, the marginalized and the poor in particular. PCPD works with the latter to educate, train, and build their capacities to implement projects that stem from their needs. We also work in community organizing, establishing local self-reliant committees capable of making their
voices heard among decision-makers.

PCPD is working on a new project funded by WPHF in cooperation with GPACC titled “Young Women and Men Engaging in Peace Negotiations within the Framework of UN Resolution 1325.” This project will target Palestinian youth activists from different locations in the West Bank who advocate for human rights, particularly women’s rights, have a degree in humanities, or are interested in UN resolutions, negotiations and conflict resolution. The project focuses on promoting Palestinian women’s participation in decision-making and peace-building processes, peace negotiations, the Palestinian reconciliation process, national dialogue, and local peace-building efforts, where the activities will focus on strengthening the role of Palestinian women in local decision-making at all levels including legislative, executive as well as civil society. The targeted youth group is to attend 6 capacity building training sessions and will be trained on drafting a reconciliation proposed agreement to be later submitted to Fatah and Hamas representatives and the media. Therefore, the PCPD is looking for experienced trainer/s to help the youth achieve this goal. 

 

Scope of work:

The trainer/s will give 6 capacity-building training sessions–36 hours, in October and early November to the youth participating in the project, and assist with the process of drafting a reconciliation proposed agreement. 

 

Location:

The training sessions might take place at PCPD’s office in Betunia-Ramallah, in Ramallah, or in other cities depending on what the participants suggest.

 

Objectives of the training:

The trainer/s is/are to hold and give 6 training sessions for the core group of 25 young women and men that focus on strengthening and developing the capacities of the trainees in the following subjects:

• Communication, leadership and conflict resolution Skills (6 hrs.)
• United Nations Resolutions relevant to women's participation in peacebuilding (6 hrs.)
• Women’s participation in decision-making and peace-building processes (6 hrs.)
• National dialogue and role of women in local peace-building efforts (6 hrs.)
• Mediation and Conflict Resolution Skills and Drafting a Reconciliation Proposed Agreement to be Later Submitted to Hamas and Fatah Representatives and the media. (12 hrs.) 

The purpose of those training sessions is to build a cadre of women leaders capable of participating in political processes, peace negotiations, the Palestinian reconciliation process, national dialogue and local peace-building efforts.

We believe that these youths have the necessary education (since all of the targeted ones will be university graduates) they have strong personalities, but they need to be empowered and raise their self-confidence. 

They need to know more about the agreements and conventions that Palestine has signed, and the need to develop the existing laws and legislations in a way to be more responsive to women's rights. 

 

The training will develop the skills of the youth, which will empower them to be diplomatic in presenting their questions and presentations to the different targeted sectors of the society, where these are peers, politicians or citizens.

 

Period of execution:

During the month of October and the first week of November:

• The first training session is set to be on October 7th&8th. [topic]
• The second training session is set to be on October 21st&22nd [topic]
• The third training session is set to be on November 4th&5th [topic]

المركز الفلسطيني لقضايا السلام والديمقراطية هو منظمة رائدة في ميدان التنمية السياسية والتثقيف السياسي، تهدف إلى تعزيز الممارسات الديمقراطية وتحسين الحالة السياسية الراهنة في فلسطين. نحن مؤسسة وطنية تقدمية ديمقراطية، يكمن واجبنا بالعمل على المستوى الشعبي للتخفيف من المعاناة اليومية والصعوبات التي تسببها السياسات الإسرائيلية اللاإنسانية المفروضة على الفلسطينيين. تتمثل المهمة الرئيسية للمركز في تبني ودعم قضايا ومبادرات الفئات المستهدفة لدينا، والمهمشين، والفقراء على وجه الخصوص. وتعمل المؤسسة مع هذه الفئات لتثقيفهم، وتدريبهم، وبناء قدراتهم لتنفيذ المشاريع التي تنبع من احتياجاتهم. كما نعمل في تنظيم المجتمع، وإنشاء لجان محلية تعتمد على الذات قادرة على إسماع صوتها بين صناع القرار.

 

يعمل المركز على مشروع:

 

"Young Women and Men Engaging in Peace Negotiations
within the Framework of UN Resolution 1325”

 

بتمويل من WPHF بالتعاون مع GPACC، يركز المشروع على تعزيز مشاركة المرأة الفلسطينية في عمليات صنع القرار وبناء السلام، ومفاوضات السلام، وعملية المصالحة الفلسطينية، والحوار الوطني، وجهود بناء السلام المحلية. حيث ستركز الأنشطة المقترحة على تعزيز دور المرأة الفلسطينية في صنع القرار المحلي على جميع المستويات، بما في ذلك التشريعي والتنفيذي، والمجتمع المدني. ويستهدف هذا المشروع الشباب الناشطين والناشطات من الفلسطينيين والفلسطينيات من مناطق جغرافية مختلفة في الضفة الغربية، أو من يدعمون عن حقوق الإنسان ولا سيما حقوق المرأة، أو الحاصلين على شهادة في جميع تخصصات العلوم الإنسانية، أو المهتمين بقرارات الأمم المتحدة، والمفاوضات، وحل النزاعات. 

وفي المرحلة الحالية من المشروع، إنه من المقرر أن تحضر مجموعة الشباب المستهدفة 6 دورات تدريبية لبناء القدرات، وسيتم تدريبهم على صياغة اتفاقية مصالحة مقترحة لتقديمها لاحقًا إلى ممثلي فتح وحماس ووسائل الإعلام. لذلك، يبحث المركز الفلسطيني عن مدربين ذوي خبرة لمساعدة المجموعة المستهدفة على تحقيق هذا الهدف.

نطاق العمل:

سوف يعطي المدربون 6 دورات تدريبية لبناء القدرات مدتها 36 ساعة للشباب المشاركين في المشروع خلال شهر تشرين الأول، وسيساعدونهم في عملية صياغة اتفاقية مقترحة للمصالحة.

الموقع:

يمكن أن تعقد الدورات التدريبية في مكتب PCPD في بيتونيا - رام الله، أو في أماكن أخرى في رام الله، أو خارجها وفقًا لما يقترحه المشاركون.

أهداف التدريب:

على المدربين عقد وتقديم 6 دورات تدريبية للمجموعة الأساسية المكونة من 25 شاب وشابة تركز على تعزيز وتطوير قدرات المتدربين في الموضوعات التالية:

• مهارات الاتصال والقيادة وحل النزاعات (6 ساعات)
• قرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة بمشاركة المرأة في بناء السلام (6 ساعات)
• مشاركة المرأة في عمليات صنع القرار وبناء السلام (6 ساعات)
• الحوار الوطني ودور المرأة في جهود بناء السلام المحلي (6 ساعات)
• مهارات الوساطة وحل النزاعات وصياغة اتفاقية مقترحة للمصالحة تقدم لاحقًا إلى ممثلي حماس وفتح ووسائل الإعلام. (12 ساعة)

 

تهدف اللقاءات التدريبية إلى بناء كادر من القيادات النسائية القادرة على المشاركة في العمليات السياسية ومفاوضات السلام وعملية المصالحة الفلسطينية والحوار الوطني وجهود بناء السلام المحلية.

ونحن نعتقد أن هؤلاء الشباب يمتلكون التعليم اللازم (لأن جميع الأشخاص المستهدفين خريجي جامعات)، ولديهم شخصيات قوية، ولكنهم بحاجة إلى تعزيزها، وتمكينها، وزيادة ثقتهم بأنفسهم.

وهم بحاجة إلى معرفة المزيد عن الاتفاقات والاتفاقيات التي وقعتها فلسطين، والحاجة إلى وضع القوانين والتشريعات القائمة بطريقة تجعلها أكثر استجابة لحقوق المرأة.

إذ سيطور التدريب من مهارات الشباب، مما سيمكنهم من أن يكونوا دبلوماسيين في تقديم أسئلتهم وعروضهم التقديمية لمختلف القطاعات المستهدفة في المجتمع، الذين قد يكونون أقرانهم، أو سياسيين، أو مواطنين في البلاد.

 

فترة التنفيذ:

خلال شهر أكتوبر وأول أسبوع من نوفمبر:

• ومن المقرر عقد الدورة التدريبية الأولى في 7+8 أكتوبر [الموضوع]
• ومن المقرر عقد الدورة التدريبية الثانية في 21+22 أكتوبر [الموضوع]
• ومن المقرر عقد الدورة التدريبية الثالثة في 4+5 نوفمبر [الموضوع]

متطلبات الوظيفة

Trainer qualifications and requirements:

• MA degree in any of these relevant fields: Social science, political science, Human Rights, International Relations.
• 5 years of experience training in related fields. 
• Great knowledge of the political and social situation in oPt, including women and human rights
• Ability to give a training session that tends to 25 youth. The training methodology should be an interactive and participatory one. 
• Fluent in Arabic. Familiarity with English is desirable.

• أن يملك المدرب/ة شهادة الماجستير في أي من هذه التخصصات: العلوم الاجتماعية، والعلوم السياسية، وحقوق الإنسان، والعلاقات الدولية.
• خبرة 5 سنوات على الأقل في التدريب بمواضيع ذات الصلة.
• معرفة كبيرة بالحالة السياسية والاجتماعية في فلسطين، بما في ذلك حقوق المرأة وحقوق الإنسان.
• يملك/تملك القدرة على إعطاء دورة تدريبية إلى 25 شابة وشاب. 
• يجب أن تكون منهجية التدريب تفاعلية وتشاركية.
• يجيد اللغة العربية، والإلمام باللغة الإنجليزية أمر مرغوب فيه.
• الأولوية للمدربات من خريجات المركز على ان لا تقل خبراتهن في التدريب عن ثلاث سنوات

The chosen candidate must submit their training manual and action plan a week prior to the training session. The training manual should contain the following:

• Pre and post questionnaires
• The outputs of each activity
• Brainstorming questions at the beginning of each session
• The exercises of each session (the minimum is two exercises) 
• Powerpoint presentation(s)
• The training methodology
• A paper (two to four A.4 pages) that summarizes the topic of each session to be delivered to the trainees by the end of each training

And by the end of the training, the trainer should submit a complete narrative report on the training one week after training. 

 

Financial offer

- Prices are valid for 120 days.
