Job Description

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator is to ensure effective grant and partnership management that supports the delivery of quality programmes in line with the NRC’s Country Strategy, Project Cycle Management and Plan of Action.

Generic responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, and internal and external deadlines, including filing of grant documents as well as track and share donor priorities and calls for proposals.
  • Coordinate the development and revision of funding proposals, budgets and donor reports to achieve donor compliance and quality control as well as support external donor audits.
  • Document, analyze and share learning from proposal and reporting process, compliance with donor rules to achieve continuous improvement of internal grant management systems.
  • Build positive working relationships with other teams in the Country Office and Area Offices to lead and support development of high-quality proposals using relevant NRC Grant Management tools and guidance.
  • Support contract negotiations by reviewing donor agreements/contracts to flag any points that might challenge NRC’s procedures and identify key reporting and compliance requirements
  • Provide an internal help desk on donor related issues, including organizing and delivering trainings in donor rules and regulations,
  • Work with the relevant Area Manager/Core Competencies to ensure Grant Meetings and trainings are arranged and actively leveraged to strengthen Project Cycle Management (PCM)
  • Uphold NRC’s core values and principles of partnership during the establishment of relationships and guide the evolution of strategic partnerships over time to strengthen and increase the impact of NRC’s country programming whilst enhancing local capacities for response
  • Lead partnership activities including capacity development initiatives in liaison with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders to ensure partners are aware and informed of their contractual agreement with NRC by regularly reviewing deliverables of partners and ensuring approval of processes in line with NRC regulations.
  • Through PCM and financial reporting, highlight critical financial issues such as under/overspends, required budget revisions and internal and external budget alignments to HoP, finance and budget holders

Professional Competencies and Qualifications Required

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience within grants and partnerships work, specific experience of project management within the humanitarian sector and development donors
  • Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
  • Skills and experience in report and proposal writing
  • Experience in working with a range of sectoral national and international partners.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong coordination, interpersonal skills and analytical skills (data and financial)
  • Ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interest
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Additional Information:

Duty Station: Jerusalem

Duration of contract: Fixed term 12 months full-time, in accordance with local labour laws.

Grade 7 in NRC's grading structure

Reporting line: Head of Programme
