Under the direct supervision of the Admin, HR and Finance Coordinator, the driver will contribute to the development of MdM-CH strategy in the country and will support the implementation, the quality and the consistence of the activities developed by MdM CH’s team and partners.
Main objective:
To support the implementation of the projects by conducting the needed driving MdM Switzerland’s vehicles.
Specific objectives:
- Support the implementation of the activities included in the different active projects in the country.
- Ensure the proper use of MDM resources in Palestine.
- Ensure the respect of MDM procedures in Palestine.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- Drive MDM vehicles upon request, in line with MDM guidelines for driving/security.
- Ensures transport of people or goods (mail, purchased goods, equipment…) in safely and efficiently manner, on time and to the assigned places in order to promote the image of MdM CH and to reflect its values (respect of passengers and road users, respect rules and regulations.
- Monitor the monthly fuel consumption of MDM vehicles and make sure that the log books are updated accordingly.
- Keep vehicles in good and well-maintained condition to minimize risks of breakdowns and to keep the vehicle in good and cleaned condition for passengers.
- Keep vehicle documents in compliance with the law and the internal procedures according to the existing regulations of local authority.
- Deliver and pick up mail/correspondence and parcels to ensure speedy and effective transmission of information or goods.
- Assist and help co-workers in executing their tasks for the best interest of MdM activities.
Note: a driver working for MdM Switzerland in Bethlehem Office must be holding a Jerusalem Identity.
Required qualifications and experiences
- Hold at least secondary education diploma.
- Hold a valid driving license in Jerusalem.
- At least 2 years of experience as a driver.
Required skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of international development organization (context, challenges, application, partners, functioning…) is an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of Jerusalem and West Bank its main roads.
- Knowledge of Gaza main roads is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
- Comfortable with inter-culturalism.
- Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability, capacity to take initiatives.
- Flexible and can work in a changing environment.
- Fluent in spoken and written Arabic. English proficiency is required, considering the international environment. Knowledge of Hebrew is an asset.
Security
- Participation in the security meetings and respect of the security rules set up according to the context.
Other Requirements/Skills
- Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Good communication skills, ability to give and receive feedback.
- Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability, capacity to take initiatives.
- Ability to work in team.
- Autonomy to work independently and without constant supervision.
- Ability to live and work in a difficult security context and willingness to accept security protocols.
- Confidentiality: observe absolute discretion on the documents, interviews, discussions and/or other info related to the intervention of MdM Switzerland in the country.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
